“Bing in Butte”

This edition of Tell Us Something was recorded on February 18th, 2014 at the Top Hat Lounge in Missoula, MT. The theme was “What Are You Waiting For”.

Pat Williams shares his story “Bing in Butte”. Bing Crosby spends time in Butte, MT to fish and get away from the spotlight fame brought him in the 1940s and 50s. He is mis-recognized by a pedestrian on the street. Bing then shares a story with Pat about Blue the Bear in the Jungle Book (Phil Harris) and drinking whiskey.

Pat Williams is a native of Butte, MT and attended the University of Montana and four other colleges. He taught for thirty years, including teaching post graduate students at the U of M for the past sixteen years. He served Montana for nine terms in the United States Congress from 1979 until 1997.  That represents more consecutive terms than served by any other Representative in Montana history.
