“How I Got Fired From Hollywood”

Getting lost in Saint Louis on the way home from the airport, noticing a potential safety hazard on set and pointing it out to the creative director & missing a phone call are all reasons to get fired from a job in the late 1990’s Hollywood.  Mike Steinberg recounts the details surrounding each one of these incidents reflecting on the true meaning of film making.

Mike Steinberg became a film director after studying film at Webster University, where he oversaw the Webster Film Series for 10 years. He moved to Montana and was the director of the acclaimed Big Sky Documentary Film Festival before deciding to lovingly re-invent the Roxy Theater as a place that inspires educates and engages diverse audiences with incredible programming.

This episode of Tell Us Something was recorded recorded in front of a live audience on October 1st, 2015, at the The Roxy Theater in Missoula, MT at the opening event of the first annual Montana Film Festival.  6 storytellers shared their story based upon the theme “Reel Stories”.
