“What will the neighbors think?!”
This edition of Tell Us Something was recorded on October 9th, 2014 at the Top Hat Lounge in Missoula, MT. The theme was “The Things We Carry”.
Frances Scott shares her story “What will the neighbors think?!”. Frances places in her father’s casket a black and white photo of him and her daughter and a sprig from his favorite dogwood tree. She then shares with us the story of her father, honoring his life, and his death.
Frances Scott grew up in Jackson, MS. One summer, during her college years, she came to visit her brother, who was a professor at the University of Montana. Daily visits to swimming holes and trips up to Glacier, eating Flathead cherries along the way convinced her to move to Missoula in 1981 and finish college at the U of M. She lived here until 1987 and had wanted to move back ever since she left.She moved back a few years ago and is happy to feel such a sense of place here.
